Tiffany Eng is an Oakland native, an artist and an organizer who believes in the power of consciousness-raising (through humor, education, and art) to address structural inequities. In 2001, she completed her B.A. degrees in Art and in Asian American studies at UCLA, where she focused on drawing, painting, and photography. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in her experiences growing up as a young Asian woman in the Bay Area, who fought to address the inherent discrimination within her institutional/educational upbringing. Her current body of work focuses on deconstructing cultural icons and pop symbolism to unearth the complexities behind every issue, every truth, and every word taken for granted. Irony and humor are also central themes in her art.
